Mathematics Standards in High School Courses

Common Core State Standards Mathematics 9 - Tri-State Quality Review Rubric for Mathematics, updated April 2013

Target Audience: All educators

Educators Evaluating Quality Instructional Products (EQuIP) is a collaborative of ADP Network states that are focused on increasing the supply of quality instructional materials that are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and available for instruction in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms.

Using a common definition of quality, EQuIP teams are learning how to use tools and processes to review the quality of materials (tasks, lesson, units, modules) that states will contribute for the purpose of receiving critical feedback for improvement. State teams are also learning how to take the Quality Review tools, training, and processes back to their states to replicate the Quality Review process and increase the capacity of their teachers and districts to identify quality instructional materials.

Dana Breitweiser and Thomas Coy are the Arkansas literacy and math leads, respectively, for this collaborative work. Dana and Tommy will introduce the work of the EQuIP team including the Tri-State Rubric. Tommy will examine all components of the Tri-State Quality Review Rubric for Mathematics and demonstrate how districts may utilize this tool.

April 11, 2013 UPDATE: The Tri-State Rubric has been updated and final versions of the EQuIP Mathematics Rubric and the electronic response form are now posted for use with the training. When viewing the training, you will notice some changes from the previous version to the current version of the rubric. These changes, however, should not diminish the overall effectiveness of the online training. If you are currently using an older version of the rubric, you should replace that version with the most current rubric available. The latest versions of the EQuIP Mathematics Rubric and the electronic response form may be accessed on the Achieve website at http://www.achieve.org/EQuIP.
