This five-hour online COURSE provides a comprehensive introduction to dyslexia and important new information relevant to recent dyslexia research. In an effort to dispel pervasive myths about this learning disability, Dr. Rick Wagner, of Florida State University and the Florida Center for Reading Research, shares his expertise. He discusses common characteristics of dyslexia, the areas of learning affected, and the principles of appropriate assessments for students with the disability. Dr. Jeanne Wanzek, also of FSU, shares her expertise on how these instructional approaches connect to the three-tier model of Response to Intervention, discussing the components of each of the three tiers as they relate to students with dyslexia. This COURSE with Dr. Rick Wagner and Dr. Jeanne Wanzek was recorded on April 2, 2014 in the AETN studios in Conway, Arkansas.
